Blackmores Travel Calm Ginger, when taken prior to travelling, helps to
reduce symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, vertigo and cold sweats associated
with motion sickness. It may help reduce the symptoms of gastrointestinal
upset from other causes and may have a settling effect on the stomach.
Features and benefits
- Non-drowsy formula.
- Suitable for children over 6 years of age.
How it works
Research supports the use of ginger to reduce the occurrence of and
symptoms of motion sickness. These symptoms include nausea, vomiting,
vertigo and cold sweats. The actual mechanism of action is unclear, however
it has been suggested that ginger aids in these conditions by having a local
action on the digestive system.
Ginger is warming and stimulating, and aids digestion by promoting the
secretion of gastric acids. Ginger can reduce the symptoms of
gastrointestinal upset as it is a carminative which eases colic and
flatulence, while helping to relieve vomiting and gastrointestinal muscular
spasm.
